Unions provide workers an opportunity to bargain with employers for a fair wage at a negotiating table where workers are legally recognized as equals in the negotiating process. Union wages lift working families up and their healthcare and pension benefits help improve the quality of life for all workers. Simply stated; unions build the middle class in America.
The Employee Free Choice Act will provide workers a union election process that isn't tainted by employer intimidations and threats. It allows workers as a group to decide how they want to form a union; through a majority sign up or a traditional secret ballot election. It creates stiffer penalties for employers who intimidate and threaten workers who want to form or join a union |
